Web Hosting

As a domain registrar and DNS host we are often asked about web hosting and we've never been in that business.

We've decided to start a modest web host directory here, but contrast with most web host directories, which are really just keyword dense affiliate sites stuffed with marketing collateral from the webhosting companies themselves, we are only going to list companies here whom we have direct, first hand experience with and we're going to use our own words.

In fact toward that end we've even devised our own internal checklist describing what makes a good webhost to us and we'll list hosts here and how they fulfill those critereon.

Shared Hosting

BlueFur.com: A Canadian company we found via Google. Offers shared hosting on both unix and windows environment as well as dedicated servers. read review »

Dedicated Servers

ServerPronto.com: A company in Florida that offers dedicated linux boxes (Redhat) starting at something ridiculous like $29/month.

Managed.com: Another el cheapo dedicated server farm. Only problem is this one is awful. Two words: Stay Away. We had about 3 sandbox servers with these guys and they all went to hell within about 72 hours of each other and it took weeks...WEEKS! to get any kind of response from them. By then we were long gone.
